Water Restoration

When minutes matter, the experts at R&J know the immediate steps to take to mitigate costly and dangerous water damage and to restore valuable property back to pre-loss condition. Toxic mold can form within 48 to 72 hours, therefore mitigation work should begin as soon as possible.

Water Removal

The first step in limiting the ongoing damage that water can cause is extraction. The right equipment, used properly and quickly, limit any additional damage.

Structural Drying

Utilize proper drying techniques that create air movement and increase evaporation that reduce further harm to property.

Desiccant Dehumidification

Desiccant dehumidifiers work when moist, incoming air flows over a wheel filled with a silica gel desiccant to remove moisture.

Thermal Imaging Analysis

Thermal imaging analysis is used to identify areas where water damage may have occurred and offers a non-destructive way to scan for the potential presence of moisture.

Temporary Power

A loss of power can stop production and leave facilities in need of temporary power services. R&J provides the right generators and handles all of the logistics including transportation, fueling, and hook-up.

Temporary HVAC

R&J’s temporary heating and air-conditioning units maintain any property’s temperature requirements regardless of the building.

R&J reduces replacement costs and lowers additional living expenses by utilizing quick, responsive methodologies designed to best serve our customers’ needs.

At R&J, we begin by using best-practice extraction and drying techniques to minimize structural damage repairs. We are sure to provide enough equipment to mitigate and control evaporation – which is essential to property recovery. Our teams minimize secondary moisture problems by isolating and protecting the unaffected areas of damaged structures and property. Effective techniques like quick and efficient drying procedures inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, bacteria and other harmful pathogens. Our team is your expert in water damage restoration including interior, storm restoration, flood restoration, quick demolition and cleanup services.

Water can absolutely devastate a property – more so than any other single substance. It is important to act as soon as water damage is detected. R&J’s staff responds 24/7/365 to eliminate the source of water and limit the negative effects that follow.

R&J Services adheres to the ANSI/IICRC Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration* that includes:

  • An inspection went damaged property using industry-standard moisture-detection equipment

  • Establishing a “dry standard” from an affected area of the structure

  • Assessment of hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, pre-existing fungal or biological growth) as a safety and health precaution for occupants and workers

  • Assessment of the level of water contamination:

    • Category 1: Water that originates from a sanitary water source and does not pose substantial risk of exposure

    • Category 2: Water that contains contamination that may be harmful to humans and may contain potentially unsafe levels of chemical or biological matter

    • Category 3: Water that is grossly contaminated and contains pathogenic, toxigenic or other harmful agents that can cause adverse reactions to humans

  • The involvement of a specialized expert that may be necessary to assist in damage assessment and procedures if hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint, mold) are part of a water damage assessment

  • Handling, packing, relocation, and stabilization of personal property affected by direct water impingement or secondary moisture damage

  • Contain areas as required to protect non-impacted areas, prevent cross contamination, and increase the efficiency of drying and air moving equipment

  • Removal of standing water with extraction equipment, and assessment of wet floor surfaces for the best method of restoration

  • Removal of baseboards, wall materials and insulation as needed to expedite drying of wall and cabinet cavities

  • Measuring, monitoring and managing air movement and dehumidification equipment

  • Assessing, cleaning and sanitizing affected and adjacent areas as required based on the Category of water damage and the pre-loss condition of those areas

  • Measuring, verifying, and documenting when a “dry standard” is obtained and equipment can be removed

A quick response reduces costly water damage by:

  • Removing standing water, controlling secondary moisture with air movement and dehumidification equipment

  • Protecting, or removing and relocating expensive personal property

  • Containment of wet areas from dry areas (if needed) increases drying efficiency, and reduces time and cost of operating the drying equipment

  • Monitoring and adjusting drying equipment based on surface and atmospheric measurements helps maintain a balanced drying system

  • Providing necessary demolition of wall and cabinet cavities expedites drying time and limits fungal/bacteria growth

  • Antimicrobial treatment of pre-existing or new fungal/bacteria growth is available with informed written consent

*All of the steps listed in the ANSI/IICRC Guidelines may not be required, depending on the extent of the damage, and the level of contamination of the water.
